Hands Along High Street
I know many of you have seen the Hands Along High Street event being sponsored by Indivisible Central Ohio…and now we are officially partnering with them!! Progress Grove City is responsible for filling ‘Section 24’ which runs from 10th Ave to King Ave. We will meet at the sidewalk in front of the Columbus Library Northside Branch @ 1423 N High St. You can park on any of the side streets for free or in the Gateway garage for a fee.

THIS IS A MULTISTEP SIGN UP PROCESS! Please read all the way to the end of this message.
Before you finish signing up here on mobilize, please go to the Hands Along High Street SignUp Genius page to pick the exact location where you will be stationed (Section 24 for Progress Grove City) during the protest (the Sign Up slot you pick has the actual address where you will meet). Join the final big resistance event of the summer before the beginning of the new school year! With your participation, we will form a human chain of resistance 8 miles long on the public sidewalk along the west side of High Street from Route 161 in Worthington to downtown Columbus, delivering the message that WE STAND UNITED for our common values as Americans:
We OPPOSE • The loss of health insurance and SNAP benefits for millions of Americans • Cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and Social Security •Tax cuts that overwhelmingly favor the rich and add trillions to the national debt.
We DEFEND • The rights of law-abiding immigrants •The victims of abuse • Science-based research and policies focused on climate change and public health • The democratic principles that have defined the United States for 249 years!

This will be unlike any previous rally in Ohio, and signup is a bit different too. You can confirm your participation here, but to ensure that we have an unbroken chain, we also need to know where along the route you plan to be. So once you’ve finished here, please go to the Hands Along High Street SignUp Genius page and choose a location along the route. This will help our planning to make this event a success.
NOTE: We will have a Moment of Unity where we link hands to form an 8-mile human chain. But leading up to that moment, we want the people of Columbus to know why we’re here. Please bring your protest signs, American flags, cowbells, etc.
This is a family-friendly, peaceful event. Once you complete your registration, you will receive details about a day that we hope to remember for years to come!
